Breakfast In Bed

Breakfast in Bed - to enjoy one's breakfast whilst in bed. I'm not talking about the romantic breakfast in bed - because really, does that even happen? I'm talking about the breakfasts in bed that happen all year round, the ones you don't have to share, wish for or wait for.

Mindful Chef

I came across Mindful Chef after seeing an Instagram shoutout from one of my food favourites, Tess Ward and her collaboration with the meal kit delivery service.

Cod & Lobster

This week I visited the beautiful Staithes on the Yorkshire coast. The drive over was an early one. Memories of tractors on the vast purple landscape, dropping equally positioned hay bails off on the horizon - made even more beautiful by the cloudless powder blue morning sky.

Old Pier Bookshop

The Old Pier Book Shop in Morecambe makes Paris' Shakespeare and Company bookshop look a bit like a Waterstones. Ok, maybe not, but this little bookshop is really quite special.

J. Atkinson & Co.

'Lets just say our local coffee shops better than yours.' That was last weeks tweet accompanied by these pictures that set the whole of Lancaster off favouriting and retweeting.

This little village

This little castled village I call home is situated in Lancashire, within the Trough of Bowland. A short drive away from Lancaster and Morecambe and en route to the Lake District.

Diagon Alley

This weekend I crossed the border over to Yorkshire. Home is situated near the Yorkshire border so we are quite lucky we can dip our toes in at the weekends and go exploring without too much of a drive.

Hello, again

Hello! It's been a while... but welcome to my new space, all refreshed with a few little extras. My Journal is just like before, made up mostly of images documenting honeyed memories with a few short words.

The Lakes

What does one say about such a place, a place so beautiful that no words can express its grandeur? Instead I shall leave you with images, a few snapshots from the recent weekends I have spent exploring the place I am so lucky to have on my doorstep, the Lake District.

Courtyard Dairy

This weekend mum and I took a trip just up the road to Settle to a little place called The Courtyard.

Pimms O’clock

A long weekend in Wimbledon... a wedding, a birthday and father's day all rolled into one, how wonderful! Over the weekend my dad got married.

After a crazy few weeks travelling around the country for christmas celebrations its vacation time. First stop the V lounge - a place to escape the crowds before the long flight, with a healthy choice of complimentary drinks and food to help yourself to with the lounge right next to your boarding gates (highly recommended).

Merry Christmas! I hope you have had a magical day with your friends and families and are winding down after your christmas feast.

Pollensa, Mallorca

Our summer break ( in November ) was spent on the delightful island of Mallorca. Our country house was positioned between Pollensa Town and Puerto Pollensa, built into the hillside in the magnificent majorcan countryside.

Friday Fog

An eerie but beautiful Friday - a huge fog has engulfed the whole of our local town...

Grizedale Forest

Last week me and my sister took a trip to Grizedale Forest. Lilly had come back from university unexpectedly ( boy problems ) and needed some company.

Bonjour Paris

Paris was beautiful – a pastel toned delight, full of little french men carrying home their baguettes. We have made so many amazing memories and visited so many amazing places.

Seafront Studio

I'm so lucky that the design studio I work in is situated on the seafront, although Morecambe isn't a white beach with turquoise water its still lovely to escape at lunchtime and walk down the promenade.

For those who don’t know me, I am a hugeee foodie. I’m lucky to have eaten at some of the world’s most amazing restaurants, but when it comes to desserts and cakes – I’m blind.

Knitted Cacti

Since we moved into our new house D has been quite insistent that he wanted a cactus for his studio desk in his new office, and, well – I dislike them.

Manx Mizzle

This week took me to the Isle of Man, it was a rainy few days away. I’ve been coming to the Island every year since I was a little girl as my grandma lives on the Island.

Curiouser + Curiouser

This birthday took me to Portmeirion, a little Italy in North Wales. Despite the hazy day, there was no mistaking how enchanting Portmeirion was.
